You cannot lose money here — there is nothing to stake. But a timer and a prize can still pull at people, and it is worth being honest about that.

Keep it in proportion

• This is not an income. Prize pools are split across everyone who scores, and a season can end at any time.
• Do not plan around money you have not been paid.
• Grids are claimed first-come, first-served. Sitting on the board refreshing for hours is not a strategy — it is just hours.

Take breaks

Long solving sessions are hard on your eyes, your wrists and your attention. Stand up between puzzles. Nothing on the board is worth an injury.

If it stops being fun

You can close your account instantly from your account settings, and we will delete your data. If you would rather take a break than leave, email us and we will lock the account for as long as you ask and not send you anything in the meantime.

If you are worried about gambling

This is a free skill contest rather than gambling, but if the pull of a prize is a familiar feeling and it worries you, talk to someone. In the UK, BeGambleAware (0808 8020 133) is free and confidential. Elsewhere, your national helpline will be listed by the Gambling Therapy directory.

Nobody under 18 may hold an account. If you are a parent and believe your child has registered, email support@whosin.chat and we will close it and delete the data.
